Thank you so much for visiting my website. I am very excited to share my yarn dying/spinning journey with everyone. I started my fiber journey learning to crochet and selling my items at craft shows. As I searched for new types and colors of yarn to use, I decided that it would be fun to try and dye my own skeins of yarn. So, with a few Jacquard acid dyes and some vinegar, I started on my dying adventure.
Now we all know that there is a natural progression that happens with any craft, and my journey has been no exception. My yarn dying has rapidly shifted into natural and food grade dying, then to dying roving, then using a drop spindle to start spinning my home dyed roving, to purchasing my first second hand spinning wheel, and finally getting us to present day where I am the proud owner of many spinning wheels. (Some are working and others are project wheels.) Yes, it has been insane. I am very lucky to have a supportive husband, Jim, that takes my fiber obsession in stride and never says anything when ANOTHER package of fiber or yarn shows up at the door.
A little more about me…. Jim and I have been married for 8 years and we have a 4 year old daughter, Charlotte. I work full time, have a bachelors degree in Accounting and Marketing as well as a Masters Degree in Business. Spinning and dying fiber has quickly become a large part of my life and I am very excited to share it with others.
